In 1774 the Teatro San Benedetto burnt to the ground and after the adoration and love of the wealthy a new theatre was put into plan. Construction began June of 1790, and now the theater is open for music and opera loving crowds.

Saint Mark's Square is between the Doge's Palace on the East and Jacopo Sansovino's Biblioteca Marciana(Library) on the West but certainly the jewel upon the center stage. With high pillars of fine Verona marble and the crystal ocean in view, it is a great place to get lost in dreams of the Republic of Venice.

In San Macro, where the Grand Canal gracefully crept towards the Riallto Bridge, just off the street Riva d. Carbon, a stone's throw and diagonal across the canal from L’anatra Ubriaco was the three story building known as the Tipsy Crow, Tavern and Inn owned and run by the Damiano Family.

The small printing shop serves also as a stationer's, an advertising agency, an office supply shop, a newsstand, and a bookbindery. Besides its own Gazzetta di San Stefano, it prints books, broadsides, invitations to social events, and other occasional orders received from various bussinesses.

Only minutes from St. Mark’s Square, the Palazzo Paruta was built as a noble residence in the 17th century. Recently purchased and renovated, it’s elegant interiors have been reopened as a private club. Gaming is the order of the day for most, with tables arranged for cards, dice and roulette, but it also offers billiards, a dining room, and music played nightly, as well as other diversions.
